In a few words the ACT Center is non-political, non-religious and non-profit institute dedicated to bringing the people of China and America closer together. With China as America’s number two trading partner and America as China’s number one trading partner these countries are increasingly becoming intertwined economically, politically and culturally. There is a rising tide of demand for our two peoples to communicate and trade knowledge, goods and services more effectively. In China that demand expresses itself as a demand to speak and comprehend English. English language proficiency is not only a requirement of the Chinese school system, it is also widely seen as the key to success in the Chinese economy. Right now over 450 million Chinese are studying English (that’s larger than the population of the US) but without native English speakers the quality of instruction is not very high. For this reason ACT Center was founded to bring native English speakers to China to teach English in the Chinese educational system. We are, in the same token, also filling the demand by Americans and persons of other English speaking countries to understand the Chinese language and have cultural and economic interchange. Our company mission is simple - to promote cultural and educational opportunities by being the best professional teaching exchange company. We have years of experience providing transportation to and from China, providing accommodation and services for all our participants, ensuring the quality of the schools, and making sure every aspect of the program runs smoothly. We have a close relationship with our schools and their headmasters across China and work with the appropriate government agencies to ensure all the needs of the English teachers and the schools are satisfied. Our company has offices in both China and America to fulfill these roles, with American and Chinese staff to assist in each step of the process.
