There are two main types of educational institutes available for our teachers. One is the TEFL Center and the other is the standard school. The TEFL Center provides extracurricular English language courses to students and professionals outside their work and school hours. These classes are smaller and the schedule involves more night and weekend teaching. The TEFL Center is mainly open just for long term teachers and at the moment and just in Zhejiang Province . The standard schools are either public or private with either boarding or day students. They teach similar subjects throughout the day as any other schools in the world, but some schools seek to improve the quality of their English courses by having native English speakers teach instead of their typical Chinese-English teacher. These positions have more typical school schedules and more students per class. Some of these schools are part owned by Meilian, some we have a partnership with. We have affiliated schools throughout Hubei province, Zhejiang Province and Hainan Dao but the list is growing daily.

Students:
At the schools the student's ages will range from 6 to 17. Their English level will vary from nil to conversational. Their level usually varies according to grade, but there is also a little variation within each grade as well. In China the students are raised to be respectful and obedient, but the teacher will set the tone as to whether they stay that way or become boisterous.
At the TEFL Center ' the students ages may be higher as many who come to learn are business professionals. |
